Acute Care for Red Eyes and Other Problems
Dr. Colton is trained and board certified to diagnose and treat bacterial and viral infections, inflammation, eye lacerations and removal of foreign bodies. Many patients with a painful red eye will visit an emergency room or urgent care. After ensuring that your vital signs are stable, the emergency doctor will prescribe antibiotic drops and refer you to a primary eye care doctor who has the diagnostic tools necessary to accurately treat the red or painful eye. Although doctors in emergency settings have received some training on eye pathology, they simply do not have access to the specialized microscopes and diagnostic coloring agents required to properly diagnose eye conditions. If you have a red or painful eye, save yourself a trip by coming straight to Dr. Colton. Whether you have an infection, inflammation, a foreign body or injury, Dr. Colton will properly diagnose and treat you.
